Vats/ BCM problems related?

My 2000 WS6 recently did not start. The security light is blinking, there is no juice to the starter, batt is fine, and when you try to pop start it dies after 3 seconds (injectors cut off)

I am almost certain it is the ignition, and I was about to do the resistor bypass, but the car has always had a problem with the bcm. Ever since I bought the car, when you lock the doors with the key fob (arming VATS), the alarm sets off after a few seconds.

Are these two problems related, could the bcm problem cause the car not to start? How can I test it?

No expert, but don't think so - alarm going off a couple seconds after arming is usually the sensitivity turned up too high, or a bad shock sensor.

I would agree with this. Seen many over the years & a BCM induced no start w/ an operating VATS system is rare on an F-car.
Vats can be deleted w/in the tuning of the PCM BTW.......
