Autotap I have a chance to buy secondhand autotap software package and cable with the PCM from the car that was tunned with it. The car is an identical 99 Z28 A4 model to mine.
Will this work as I know the software is locked to a Vin mumber, but this will be on the PCM when I swap them Right so it should work.
Any help would be appreciated as secondhand LS1 parts and tuning software are as rare as hens teeth in the UK.
The car this came from no longer runs an LS1 and now runs SBC 438ci and carb and has run 9's in the UK

Autotap and Ls1edit I maybe confusing people as I have just realised Autotap is Scanning only.
I am also being offered Ls1edit with the cable and PCM from a 99 Z28 A4.
Will this work on my car if I swap the PCM's?

Ls1edit thanks for the reply, but I have a cheap cable and a scan tool it was the Ls1edit I was after so I can tune my car to optimise my setup with all the mods I have.
I am being offered the cable with PCM Autotap in a case and Ls1edit for $180 and it is an identical 99 Z28 A4 to mine.

I would guess that if you can do a VATS re-link (relink the PCM with the BCM)it should work .
With any luck Ringram will spot his thread , he is in the UK as well (not sure where in the UK) and may be able to help .

Yes will work... (if you swap PCMs) but as to whether it's worth it... depends on cost....
Autotap + LS1 Edit... I wouldn't pay more than 150 maybe 200 (and that's w/a PCM swap... if you don't get a PCM Swap... LS1 Edit costs 150 or 200 just for a new license... )
Depending on cost you may want to check out HP Tuners or EFI Live instead... they are MUCH better tuning suites (scanner and tuner integrated)

Agreed! Also, Ringram is a lot closer to you than most of us and is very well versed with EFILive. You might want to send him a PM

Autotap and LS1edit Thanks for the replys guys, Thats what I wanted to here, £100 ($180) is cheap in the UK and if i bring this in from the USA I would have to pay VAT 17.5% and import duty 4% and and admin charge so It puts the price up by about $40 on something at this price.
I know the guy who is selling the stuff as a lot of my modded parts on my car came from him already. And He says if it doesn't work I don't have to pay, You can't say fairer than that!

I got EFI Live, but I dont really use it as have the HPTuners Suite.
Not sure what version but if your interested i can find out more info on it. I know it works fine on my 2000 T/A, I dont think its PCM locked at I scanned a 98 Camaro.
However its only scanning software/hardware. So if you are interested let me know.

Autotap and Ls1edit Thanks for the offer but it is a tunning package I need to tune for headers, my TCI high stall, firm up the shifts and delete my rear O2's and more.
Yes that's my wife's Ford Ka, once you drive it and then drive the Z28 you realise there's more to motoring than just getting from A to B.
