Is there any reason why you shouldn't turn on OL-STFT then correct the VE accordingly to the amount of error? Won't that put you right at your commanded A/F??

If STFT was turned on I beleive it would still try to shoot for 14.7AFR, as the narrow band sensors can say I'm at 14.7AFR or too high to too low. I dont think for example, if you have 15.5AFR commanded it would trim it to that. Maybe it will, I dont know.
What I do is log wideband, Commanded AFR, and use AFR Error for VE corrections.

CL-maf would be normal operation. Where the car uses the o2 sensors to modify fueling through ltft's. OL is not uising o2 sensors to modify fueling on the fly.
