Default VE Autotune done.....now what?

I just finished up the VE Auto tune with EFILive, and reflashed the computer for the final time. My question is, do I have to leave the car in closed loop speed density now? Or can I plug the MAF back in, and then recalibrate that? Also, now with the fuel trims and VE table dialed, do I just tune PE with the PE by RPM multiplier? Thanks.

you can leave it in whatever mode works best for you application/environment.
calibrating MAF is easy, just log maffreq and dynair and you got yourself a new MAF table.
yes, tune wot ONLY with PE. your airflow numbers should be fairly stable, so you want to treat WOT fueling as a derivative of partial throttle. this way both your partials and full throttle do their jobs properly.

man, i'm happy to see someone is finally getting it right

I agree with Red. CLSD works better for some and CL-MAF works better for others. Personally, I like my MAF. However, in my personal experience, using dynair vs MAF Hz is only good for a base or starting point. After you get a new table lined up, you'll still need to log your BEN vs MAF Hz to dial it in.

Does anyone have a writeup on how to build a new table for the MAF? I understand the VE and PE tables, but the MAF numbers are just numbers that I don't really relate to. Thanks.

Just posted the answer to this question in the EFI Live forum. Building maps in Flashscan is easy. Just make sure you set them up like the table in the tuning software. GM.DYNAIR is the pid Red was talking about above. My post in the other forum says how to do it with the BEN instead.
