I having a problem starting with my Gen7 setup, when trying to start the car, it acts like the timing is way advanced. I have gone over the file and cannot find any mistakes, timing is set at 30 degrees throughout the table. Acts like it's getting extra timing at startup. 406 Small Block Chevy, Gen7, MSD Distributor. Any help appreciated

you using a crank trigger or distributer pickup?
Either way you have to make sure they are set to fire close to TDC, if your distributer/crank trigger is firing at 20 degrees BTDC and you have the gen7 set to 30* BTDC then you have 50 degrees of timing.
Get the car running and use a timig light to check the timing, lock it at 30 degrees in the gen7 software and adjust your distributer or crank trigger so you get 30 degrees with the light..

30 deg timing across the board? That is way too much during cranking, why don't you have a normal timing table such as 15 deg at idle and 34 deg at full load, WOT etc. Have you experimented with different timing, in your 0-500 RPM range, try all 5s as an example, that should get the engine started.
