408 SD Tune WONT IDLE
2000SS
4k stall
vic jr. intake
NW 90mm TB
38 lb injectors
12:1 compression
Large cam on a 112 LSA
SD Tune
the car will start and run, smells VERY rich! This is a new motor by the way.. it will rev, but kinda pops and sounds shitty. i think its running WAY TOO rich. but after messing with my HPtunners, with an experienced friend on the phone, even with the idle set at 1350, it wont idle or even run with less than 10% throttle applied.. we tried it in open loop and closed loop, no luck. Drilled the TB hole 2 sizes larger, then even drilled a small secondary hole. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
thanks,
chris

Hey Chris,
Try the CASE learn operation in HPT. Open the scanner, connect to the car, then open the Live Controls and click on the Special tab. CASE learn is the bottom button. Follow the instructions listed in the HPT help files regarding CASE learn and let me know how it goes.

I had the same problem with my 408 but i have a solid roller and didn't help the matter. We tuned the car in HP inhanced verison sd and that helped alot but my car was never dead on.One thing you can try is instead of drilling the blades just adjust the set screw (idle) and then unplug the TPS and disconnect the battery and reset the tps so its back to zero instead of dumping 10% of fuel. Are you holding the throttle at 10% to keep it running? If thats the case then i would open the idle blade not drill and reset the TPS to get it down the 0%.Also make sure your ve table is not all dicked up from trying to get it to idle before tacklen the throttle body again.
