Manual Shift Mode Option? 2000+ models?

Manual Shift Mode Option? 2000+ models? Let me clarify up front that I don't mess with F-body computer's much,just have a little experience in the truck ECM's.I use Tunercat OBDII for flashing.
I checked a dn played with some buddies computers the other day and noticed they have an option for a Manual Shift Mode Option....?
Will this allow the trans to stay in the commanded gear position?
Such as 1 1st,2 2nd,D 3rd,OD 4th?
Any info would be appreciated.
