Default ve question

When changing my ve to help hot starts. Do I change my primary ve or cranking ve? or do I need to change both?

Primary VE is for fueling once the start up conditions have been met/exceeded. Cranking VE is for those first few seconds that the engine goes from no rpm to idle, regardless of warm up time. What problem are you trying to cure? Hard to start? Rich start up? Lean start up?

My car is very grumpy after cranking when the motor is hot, say if you turn the car off run into the gas staion come out and start it, it will want to die. If you cut it of and let it cool it starts and idles fine.

Have you logged it to see what it is doing, it does not sound like a cranking ve problem to me.

my car used to do that, turned out I had the cranking timing too high during hot starts. try backing down the timing a little at this spot. Your VE table could also be just a little too rich duting hot starts.....but i think it could more of a timing issue.
