Tuning software gurus inside to settle this I have a friend at work that has a friend that races an LT1 car. This guy supposedly has a Holley PCM. My friend on numerous occasions has told me to ditch the stock PCM and get something better. He just recently talked about doing an LT1 or LS1 swap into a Jeep and that he would get one of these Holley setups with the fuel injection and it would "Do waaay more than HP Tuners or LS1 Edit can do"
I argued and said that HP Tuners can do pretty much all there IS to do. Any insight or comments on this?

Holley PCMs tend to have a lot of problems. I wouldn't personally trust one on my vehicle. Two of my friends are looking for other computers because of numerous Holley pcm issues. Unfortunately, they have no stock pcm option on a '70 vette and a '52 chevy pickup.
6 years ago the stock PCM was a problem. Today with EFI Live and HP, you can't beat it if you know how to tune it. GM has spent millions of dollars designing there pcm's to deal with endless conditions that the aftermarket doesn't come close to. Now with custom operating systems and 2/3 bar capability we are controlling over 1000 hp with stock mannorisms.
I have done a couple Edelbrock fuel injection setups on old school motors which is where those types of items belong including Holley. If you are building an all out max effort car, BS3, GEN7 and FAST will help dial in the car much faster as there are less tables and things to screw with over stock pcms.
