Default throttle response dropped

i just changed my spark plugs had ngk nitrous plugs in it with a .038 gap the nitrous plugs were pretty burnt up. put in the new ngk iridium plugs with the same gap. the only problem is my throttle response totally dropped and it seems like my acceleration dropped also. does my timing need to be changed since i'm no longer running nitrous or could it be something with the gap of the plug. i have a 408 with a Trex 231/236 109lsa. what could the problem be. if you need more info please ask. need problem fixed asap want to take it to the track and smoke a ford lightning that has been talking trash

Timing change will likely help with over-all power depending on the amount of nitrous used.

Without nitrous you can open up the gap, especially with multi-coil ignition
on fairly stock SCR/DCR values.

I'd check the plugs again. Make sure they are all firing. You might want to
consider a faulty coil and/or wire in your trouble-shooting.
