Do you mean the tuning built into the Hypertech? If so, I would think not. The unit I had did virtually nothing for the performance of my car. They are really only good for changing things like shift points (for autos), gear ratios, tire sizes, and the like. To really muck up your tune you need something like HPTuners, LS1Edit, or similar.

I enjoyed my hypertech...it did make me some good power and no, it shouldn't hurt performance with your mods. Yes, it does have a tendency to run the car lean and make your knock retard sensors kick on in hot weather...that's why you should get an actual programmable tuning program like HP Tuners where you can add fuel and timing to get the best results.
