Default Anyone interested in the AEM EMS?

I still have not heard a firm date as of yet, but I was told it was very close to production by AEM.

Does the box interest anyone since there are OEM alternatives?

I would only be interested in the AEM if it is a plug-n-play like a great majority of their import applications.

The only advantages that I think the AEM would provide over the stock PCM tuning software are Nitrous outputs, better boost controls, and marginal ability to run VERY radical setups (ie 9000 rpm).

If there was an AEM option for the LSx cars I would choose AEM over BigStuff, GenVII, FAST, etc...

The AEM EMS (p/n: 30-1220) is a direct plug into the OEM harness, it will replace the internals of the Factory ECM. I should have the 1st article by next week. The production pieces have been released for comsumers.

Where is a good place to look for the AEM EMS? Is there a dealer selling them cheaper than direct from AEM. They have it priced at $2400 or so. I would rather go this route and just sell the GEN 7 DFI for $1000 to recoupe some $$$.

Any AEM authorized dealer/distributor should be able to get you one.

I have seen a few dealers online with them at $2100. I am just gonna send my GEN 7 DFI back to be upgraded from 3.2 to 6.0 and order the PRO key and USB cable. I will do autometer gauges in the dash or order a Race Pak Ultra dash for the car.

We can do them for $2100. Maybe better if a few people were interested.

If you are handy with wiring harnesses, you can adapt a cheaper AEM honda box like a 1050 or 1012. Thats what i did.

Buying the plug and play LS1 box will save you a ton of time, but if you want to adapt a cheaper box you need to buy 1050 or like AEM. I'm using a 1012.

AEM will mod the box so it'll work with a the cam/crank hall effect sensors. They charge $50 to preform the mod.

You can buy the honda ecu connectors from AEM for 60ish, an engine wiring kit from a third party for about $50. Hack the engine connectors off your factory harness and build a new engine harness from scratch.

I should note, that I haven't tried setting up AC as my car doesn't have room for a compressor.

I would do your homework before spending money on the AEM. Most all of the people I have talked to about it say it is the most unreliable part on their car. I know a viper guy who has been left stranded 3 times with it, and had to send it back 3 times for 3 different problems,he now carries a spare box (no other solutions for the vipers). We atleast have several RELIABLE solutions, and they are much cheaper! You can always put in a stand alone boost controller, or nitrous controller.

I got tired of waiting on the AEM and went with the FAST XFI setup with the FAST XIM ignition controller.
