Default trouble codes at the track

im gonna try to summarize this so its not a long read:

was at the track last night trying to run my 11 n/a. made a couple of strong passes with terrible 60ft times, then had a great 60ft, and down near the end of the track my car sputtered/cutout/gurgled/ect.

it surged all the way and kinda sounded like it was misfiring down the return road. i parked it for a while and let my friend/builder make a pass. it took off reasonably strong and then right before the 1/8th mile did it did what it did to me, just worse this time. and while he was on the return road the SES light came on.and the car stayed running like ***. needless to say that was the end of the night for my car.

its throwing 4 codes:

P0171 system too lean bank 1
P0174system too lean bank 2
P0200(twice)- injector circuit malfunction

also, i pulled/changed the plugs today and they were pretty nasty, some showing detonation.

now background on the car. its cam/spray/boltons. the tune in it has never been great drivability wise. i have surging/idling issues. also, there had been a code for one o2 sensor popping up(i foprget which one). which leads me to the two things we did out of the usual. before heading out to the track we change both o2 sensors. also, we mated my Nx kit with a TNT power ring and dual nozzles. we changed the o2s again after changing the plugs, and its still running terrible. one thing we came up with is maybe the power ring isnt sealed well to the TB so its sucking extra air in? but wouldnt the unmetered air code come up to?

does anyone else have any ideas? id like to get this taken care of myself as to not waste anymore $$$

thanks, and sorry about the long read.

Check the injector fuse. Should be in one of the underhood fuseboxes. If it's ok then start tracing the wires from the injector harness. Look for broken wires or a plug disconnected. When the injectors started screwing up you set the P0200 which in turn set your 2 lean codes. It's fueling and in line with the injector circuit.

This also could trace back to a faulty coil. The coil modules and injectors are both powered from the injector circuit fuse. Look for a short to ground from all injectors and coils. Could be a bad injector or coil. Did you tap into the injector circuit when you wired the fuel pressure switch for the nitrous?

i will have to check with my buddy about the wiring, that isnt my bag. i basically just helped with the plumbing of the system, i dont understand wiring/electronics/tuning.

The N2O does not currently have a FPSS, so no that wiring was never tapped into.

He got a SES light after the power ring was installed but he didnt have a chance to check its codes. the next day i changed the O2's to a pair of used ones i had sitting around, the light then went off, then we went to the track later that day.

it made 2 strong passes running slightly better then his previous best ET last year(12.17 last year to a 12.15 backed up by a 12.16 now) then it made the slight sputtering pass with him driving and ran a 12.26 after a great 60'. i got in it and it ran a 12.7 at like 98mph (had been hitting 110-112 or so cant remember) on the return road it was trying to die and cut down to a 300-400rpm idle a couple times.

you could hear sucking air around the power ring, i took some aluminum HVAC tape and tried to seal it up the best i could around the TB and power ring last night(would have done something better but we live 2hours apart, we didnt have a replacement bellow to remove the power ring and he needed to drive back home last night). I did stick in a differant set of O2 sensors, not new but differant(it was late and the parts stores were closed, not sure it was the O2's anyways)

Checked fuel pressure yet? If thats not it, then I'd move on to injectors/wires/fuses and so on. Good luck.

I may be way off base, but have you done a compression check? Detonation could have caused a slight issue with the piston (ring land) that might only rear it's ugly head under heavy load. Had that happen once. You could drive the car, but with much throttle at all she would spit, sputter, and stumble.

upon further inspection, you can hear a whistling of air at the top of the motor, so im willing to bet it is the power ring that isnt sealed. i havent been driving it much and im going to try to seal it off tomorrow. it doesnt just act up under a heavy load. it doesnt want to idle upon start and it sputters off and on through out the RPMS.

i will let you guys know.

whoops, forgot to update.finally had some time to work on it, disconnected the N20 setup and put it back to the way it was pre track and no more codes and car is running as usual, in need of a tune.
