Anyone know anything about tuning software called SCT Flash
Anyone know anything about tuning software called SCT Flash The tuner I'm taking my car to to do a tune uses it. Software is ~400.00 plus they are charging another 400.00 for the dyno tune. Am I getting railroaded?

Tuner Cat Pro maybe? Or is it with a Diablo using CMR (Chip Master Revolution)?
In either case, a good dyno tune shouldn't run you more than $400~$500. But if the tuner is using the CMR software, they would charge you for the Diablo handheld that goes with your vehicle ($400) plus the tune and dyno time. At least, that's how one of the shops here in MI does it.

It is the SCT Advantage software then.
The handheld tuner is around $400-500 and then whatever the shop charges for the dynotune. It may cost a little more upfront, but you get more for your money, (since you get a handheld tuner, that stores your stock tune, and can hold 3 tunes, works for datalogging, code reading/clearing)

You can use the 3 tunes for whatever you want. Street, Track, Valet are common combinations.
The Xcalibrator 2 flash device is very easy to use, just a couple of buttons, and your good to go.

yeah, a valet setting, so if you go anywhere where someone else is parking/driving your vehicle, the valet tune will dummy it down so they can't beat on it.

yeah it is.. but remember, it wouldn't come with those extra tunes, those are custom tunes that you'd have to create, or get created for you.

Alot of mustang guys use the SCT. I have a friend with an 04 Cobra and he swears by it. From what I understand the LS1 tuner is fairly new from SCT. I havent used one but I would imagine they work well. I think that for the money I would get HP tuners.
It's a different market than owning your own tuning software. Anybody can buy their own tuning software, but not everybody should. If you want to tune your own car, you need tuning software, wideband, laptop, and to rent dyno time to do it right, not to mention the time involved in getting the tune right.
This allows somebody to get a tune at a shop, have something to show for it (hardware) and the ability to return their vehicle to stock, or load another custom tune into the device.

Believe it or not, there are no sponsor shops in my area (Northern VA), closest is over 50 miles in MD.
2QUIK4U- How do you like your textralia? I've got the same clutch/flywheel waiting to be installed.
like above, SCT is big in the Mustang market. I had one when I owned my 03 GT, and it worked great. The shop loaded my tune on it, I offloaded the stock tune, uploaded my tune, and drove away - that simple. Plus when it came time to demod the car and sell it, all I had to do was load the stock tune back in.
