Ignition Configuration for MS2 and GM DIS

Ignition Configuration for MS2 and GM DIS 3400 Series V6 (from 2003 Alero), MegaSquirt 2 on V3 board, Stock DIS module on engine.
I am trying to setup (and understand) how to configure GM DIS ignition module for the MegaSquirt 2 in megatune. I have followed all the instructions i could find for the build of the MS2 for this setup in regards to the hardware and the jumpers needed and am under the assumption that what i have done is correct.
The engine will start and run with the ignition timing being controlled by the DIS module only and will not stay running while being controlled by the megasquirt.
When i watch all the sensor parameters in realtime i have an rpm reading, but I do not know if this reading is being interpreted properly by the MS.
I have wired the module and set the parameters from the info i found here:

I searched and found the DIS Modules work and tune the same as 7pin HEI modules. In the following link, the "Timing Advance Calculations for GM HEI Modules" section is what i don't understand and i think that this is what is causing the engine not to stay running while being controlled with the MS.

Does anyone know what the settings should be in megatune so that the MS will give the proper timing correction output? I know i might have to do some math with this one, i just don't know where to start.
