Question Wideband Hookup question

I tried to search on this, remember coming across something but can't find it again. So I figured I'd ask my own.

I have my LC-1 wired as follows:

Red: 12v switched
Blue: Chasis ground (by itself)
White/Green: PCM Ground - pin #41
Yellow: PCM pin #47
Black: Calibration

My car is a 2001 Trans AM, it didn't have an EGR, I used pins 41/47 in the PCM for the analog input and PCM grounds. I enabled EGR on the Engine/General tab and updated my PCM.

I can connect to the LC-1 is Logworks2 and see my Air/Fuel at idle. I followed the thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/printthre...t=496625&pp=40 to configure hpt to log my Air/Fuel but I keep getting unsupported... something in hpt when I try to add the custom PID. I am monitoring PID.2810, but am not sure if that is the correct one. My custom PID looks like ([PID.2810]/.625)+10

Does snyone have any ideas what could be wrong? I was going to uee my A/C pressure, but I may need my A/C. I decided to use EGR because I don't have one and I thought it would be easy to use EGR in the PCM. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does it make a difference if I use Analog 1 or 2? I have seen a lot of people use Analog 2.

It doesn't make any difference to use 1 or 2. I don't exactly know what you are talking about, I hooked my LM-1 up to my MPVI through the terminals provided. Once I set the offset correctly, I added the EIO input on my table display and my chart in hptuners. It took me about two days to get everything working right.... I'm not sure why you are using anything (wires) from your pcm... doesn't sound right to me.. but then again I don't have the LC, but it couldn't be that different, could it?

Hi Vert,

There's a few threads on here and hpt forums that tell you how to hook up a wideband or other device using an input other than one on the MPVI interface so people don't have to upgrade to get the EIO inputs. The EIO inputs on the MPVI Pro are worth it, but this is just another way to get it to work.

Basically, what you are doing by hooking it up this way is using a 5V input already in your PCM, like A/C Pressure for those that remove or don't use A/C, or EGR, for those that removed it or didn't have it stock. I didn't have EGR stock since mine is a 2001 and don't have the harness, so I'm pinning my LC-1 analog out directly to the PCM where the EGR "would" be. Hope that explains it a little, I'm no pro at this

I've got mine wired in and can see it in Logworks, I'm just not 100% sure that I got the PCM correct or what PID to monitor, because every time I add my custom PID for the LC-1 I get unsupported paramater in hpt. Any help please. Thanks.

Default Update

I got my issue with hpt figured out. You need to tap pin#55 on the blue connector of the PCM . I had it to pin#47. This is incorrect. I added the custom PID's to monitor the AFR and AFR Error % and can now see it in hpt.

I'm noticing something weird though, and hopefully someone can point some things out. Monitoring my AFR in Logworks at idle it's about 18, 22, 16, etc. It fluctuates a little. When I give it a little gas it is around 14, 15, etc.

In hpt my afr doesn't go above 18. I'm assuming this is because I programed my LC-1 Analog 1 0v 10:1 and 5v 18:1 and looking at the EGR volts in hpt it fluctuates between 4.98 and 5v all the time. Is this correct? Any help anyone could provide would be appreciated.

I've attached a hpt log file and the logworks log while at idle.

Thanks.
