VATS problem? ever heard of it?

VATS problem? ever heard of it? last fall I was having trouble getting my car to fire, it would turn over but i wouldnt get any power, so I was told it was probly a fuel issue, so i brought it to a chevy dealer and they killed the battery and didnt do a thing, so i got the car back and brought it home, anyways, so then a friend of mine told me it was probably a fuel thing and he had electrical problems with the plug near the fuel tank and he seemed to fix it by clamping the plugs tighter(compressing the female side closer so the male would fit tighter), this didnt seem to help either. So now after i gave up last fall and let it sit through winter i was talking to a different friend who had the same thing happen, he said he just disabled his VATS and it has started perfect every time? has anyone had this problem before? and also is there a easy fix or do i need to take it to my tuner and have em take vats out? options/other ways to diagnose?
