Engine oil light?

Engine oil light? Today my engine oil light came on for a couple of minutes and then went off. It did it again the next time I cranked it and went off after about a minute. I just bought the car and the last owner just changed the oil. It probly hasn't got 1500 miles on it. It's still golden brown and new looking. The pressure holds good at 50-60 hwy speed and about 30 and up around town. What gives?
