Default o2 sensor help on a '04 vette...

For some reason I can't for the life of me find the correct o2 sensor instead of a universal to fit this style pig tail! Anybody have any clues on why it would be a female pigtail on the o2 sensor instead of a male? It's a '04 LS1 vette. Here are some pics of what im talking about.

Im absolutley lost!!

The later vettes differentiate the front and rear sensors with the fronts having males and rears having females on the sensor plug. Earlier vettes used a flat 4 in a row plug for the fronts. I'm not sure the exact year they changed. Not sure what you are asking though. Are you looking for a direct replacement?

Im looking for a direct replacement but all i can find are the flat 4 replacements and the male style replacements like that are on the rear. A part number and brand would be extremely helpful on a front female direct replacement.

All I can suggest is make sure they are looking it up for a 04. May have to go to a GM dealer for the right one if the other parts houses can't get it right.

I had a similar issue trying to find O2 extensions for a 04 Z06. That's when I discovered GM changed the front O2 style plug from what I was used to seeing on Vettes.

The dealer is trying to sell me the flat 4 as well! Any suggestions besides going universal?

What is the exact end you need, Ill send you some cut off ends of them, and then you just use a needle to get the other pin out and put it over to the new one.

Your dealer is a douche. I just had my friend who is a parts man at a chevy dealer look it up and the sensor you need is a GM #12569429. He pulled one out of his inventory and verified it is a 4 pin square male plug. Dealer list - $83.42. Dealer cost - $43.38.

I just crossed that number a few times and that is the correct number. I appreciate your help! Now i can just give that number to the damn dealer instead of having them try to do anything for me!

You're looking at it wrong. For the fronts, the female is in the vehicle wiring harness and the male is on the sensor. That is what your pictures are showing too. Should be the opposite for the rears.
