Communitcation Issue

I am working on tuning a friends LS1 FD RX7 and am having an issue. Using HPTuners I am able to communicate with the VCM to read his tune, write a tune, and pull trouble codes. The issue is I am not able to log any live data. Any input would be much appreciated.

make sure the OBDII port has power, I think it's pin 16 or pin 4... if the cable's having a hard time connecting and works on other vehicles than likely the OBDII port was not wired properly during the install

The OBDII port has power. The power light comes on the HPTuners box when it is attached.

Anyone else?

anyone know the answer. its my ls1 he is speaking of, need to get it tuned ASAP.
