will not work (also I believe the HPP3, unless it's changed in the last 5 years, are locked for a certain year (so a 99 HPP3 wouldn't work on an 02 PCM even though they're the same hardware wise)

if you have an 02 then I would only buy one for an 02 ... even used though... a HPP3 isn't worth more than maybe 75 bux... if you had to rank all handheld "tuners" then the HPP3 would be right there are the bottom of the list....

best thing to do then might be wait until a full tune is more beneficial and buy a more decent tuner, or tuning software or get a dyno tune.
On a side note I had a HPP3 that I put on with a granatelli MAF that was already "tuned" for an intake setup and I felt some more low end power, but with just the tuner i felt no difference. its worth the extra money to get a diablo or a Vinci/crane tuner, or if you want to learn it the ls1edit or hptuners type software and a laptop.
