Need suggestions on LS1Edit changes
I know edit is old school and I'm planning on working with a tuner to get my car dialed in. But in the meantime I need to at least get it started and running. Basically my hawk has been sitting for close to a year and I have finally gotten around to getting all the odds and ends addressed. When I put it into the garage it was riding really rough and at the end wouldn't start up.
So to address that issue I thought my plugs were fouled and replaced them. First time it started up. however on a test run it had a lot of trouble off the line. Just normal driving. It would bog, hesititate, backfire, and be very sluggish going from a dead stop. Then around 2000 RPMs it would open up and start driving like a normal car, way down on power but at least semi smooth. Then if i kept pushing it would accelerate okay until about 4000RPMs where it would fall flat on power. Engine sounded okay but you could tell there was no power. Also when slowing down if i pushed in the clutch the car would die. So I bring it back into the garage.
Then this weekend I want to start working on it but the thing wont start at all. Sort of like the issue before when I first put it in the garage. So I'm guessing the spark plugs had no effect. I'm going to order plug wires on Monday as i can tell #8's wire is bad. Perhaps others are bad as well.
But assuming the plug wires are not the issue what do you guys think might be wrong? is it strictly a tune? Would the bogging and stuff be a sign of a car running too rich or too lean? To correct this should I just lower my IFR number?
What about injectors? Could they be dirty? Is there a way to clean injectors like soaking them in something to remove deposits? I'll check the fiuel filter as well to see if that is showing any signs of clogging.
I guess I'm looking for suggestions to trouble shoot this car and get it running reasonably well before taking it to a tuner. Or at the very least just get it running!

Thanks for the help guys,
Mike
When you are trying to solve a problem, fix the things that you know to be wrong first.
If it ran good on this tune, I would not start changing that. It sounds like you have mechanical problems.
