car stumbling and throwing a code
car stumbling and throwing a code OK, I've searched this and still have some questions. Lately my car has been stumbling a lot and throwing a code, p0171- bank 1 running lean. It seems that most people that get this code also get a code for bank 2 running lean. However I only have bank 1 running lean, and the car doesn't always stumble just sometimes. I would think that if a vacuum leak was causing this code, that it would run bad all the time, not just sometimes. The code has been coming on and off now for a two weeks. Just today the car started running real bad. Before it would hesitate at low RPMs, but it always seemed fine when i floored it. Today it stumbled at low RPMs just cruising and then I floored it and it kept on sputtering. I have the bosch 13111 injectors, but would a bad injector actually cause my car stumble a whole lot. I mean it felt like i lost tons of power. Anyone have any clue on what the problem could be? I don't know if it matters but the mods are LT headers, ORY, and f13 cam.
Scan it. Sounds like you may have fresh air getting into your bank 1 oxygen sensor. If it reads lean, it will start dumping in fuel to correct the condition if it can. This can then foul out spark plugs.
