Oil Light Indicator Hey guys,
After changing my oil, I dont know how to turn off the oil indicator light. I have tried a search but no luck.
I just want to know how to turn it off.
Also, does anyone use synthetic other than Mobil 1?
I was just wondering. I was told by a fellow gearhead
that Castrol GTX Synthetic is better than Mobil 1.
His evidence is that Castrol was made by rodders and Mobil is made by corporate individuals just for money.
I use Mobil 1, but just want a different opinion. What about that Purple stuff?

Re: Oil Light Indicator I assume you are talking about the oil change light. If so hold down the trip reset until the light goes out. If its the low oil light then its the sensor or connection on the passenger side of the oil pan.

Re: Oil Light Indicator Turn on the switch, (don't crank the engine) quickly mash the gas to the floor 3 times. The change oil light should go out. This method doesn't reset the odometer, if you care. Otherwise, the other suggestion works perfectly fine!

Re: Oil Light Indicator On the oil thing, well, I'm still using Mobil 1 after 70K miles. Everyone has an opinion about oil, though Patman (board member, and a forum director for the lounge) seems to constantly seek out data about different oils.Might chat w/him.
