Any benefit from tuning?

My '99 TA WS6 is almost stock.
I run a Whisper lid with a K&N high flow and an SLP Loudmouth.
Would I see any worthwhile benefit from a tuning?
Thanks,
John

It COMPLETELY depends on what you consider "worthwhile."
Speed limiters, shift points/rev limiter, WOT timing, WOT fueling, fans if you have a thermostat.
If you want general "guess'" of overall power increases . . . anywhere from maybe ~10-20 rwhp on your year car depending on mileage, wear etc.
Obviously if you learned to do your own tuning it would ALWAYS be worthwhile![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
If you're paying someone $300-500 to "dyno-tune" your car as is; not worth it IMO.

I just did my car, granatelli lid and dynomax bullet muffler and I picked up 11 WHP and 20 lbs tq and better fuel economy because I was running pretty rich. and it gives you a benchmark for when you start modding more.

I agree with the possible results of tuning alone that have been stated, they are real. I do think that for most folks, the benefits of adding a simple major bolt on like LT's / or a converter are worth waiting for in the grand scheme of things. It is a highly personal decision.

Thanks for the replies!
I've been running these basic mods for about 7 or 8 years now.
Apparently the fuel savings alone would have been worth the cost of the tune.
I appreciate the input!
