swapping ls1

For reprogramming the PCM, what needs to be done to the fuel system. I hope to keep the OEM fuel pump, what info does the PCM gather from the pump? and what is it for? Thanks for any help.

I think, and I am not completely sure, but I believe that the only information from the fuel tank to the PCM is for the gauge, otherwise the PCM just activates the fuel pump relay. I am not sure what you are trying to swap it into, but I recently swapped my 98 PCM to a 2002 and the gauge calibration was a lot of trial and error, but I have it reading well right now.

You mean an LS1 OEM pump right? You could add the entire sending unit to the tank and just plug it in.

thats what im hoping to do, Just dont know the difference between a camaro tank and my el camino's tank yet. The pump and sending unit could be too tall for my tank.
