Default Is my WBC control module bad? Description inside.

My Dynojet Wideband Commander only reads 18.0 with the car running. I replaced the sensor already and checked continuity on the wire from the sensor to the control module. I hooked up the computer and the read out is 18 on the computer, same as on the gauge, so I assume that means it's not the gauge - computer and gauge are getting the same signal. I took the wires out of the module and put them back in to make sure I didn't have any loose connections. I hooked up real time tuning with HP Tuners and kept adding fuel at idle to see if it might change the reading and nothing. Not sure what else to do at the moment.

Anybody have a module go bad before? If so, did it do the same thing and start reading 18.0 all the time?

Does the reading dip down once the car start's making some exhaust flow?

If you are using the stand-alone wideband box a bad pump can cause the a/f meter to indicate high. Also a dirty filter can cause it to indicate high also.

In hopes that this might help someone else one day, I thought I'd post what the problem ended up being. After chasing some parts and testing connections, wires, grounds, etc. it turns out some wires were melted and touching each other. I had thought of this possibility, and I tested this wiring harness by checking continuity from the open wire end at the control module to the pins on the connector, but I did this under the car by bringing the open wire end down by the connector, rather than taking the harness all the way out to completely inspect it. All seemed well with continuity on all wires. In retrospect, if I had checked for continuity between the pins and different colored wires, I guess I could have figured out they were touching. Another lesson learned the hard way.
