need vin help!!(hptuners) My friend has a 2000 ss camaro. His pcm somehow got fried So he purchaesd a pcm for a 2000 camaro and it's a 2000 tahoe pcm. The store that he purchased it at won't take it back now because it was installed even though they messed up and gave him the wrong one. I have tuned his car in the past So I have the files to rewrite it but hptuners will not let me change the vin or overwrite the vcm cause I don't have the license for the trucks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
It depends.
If you have the year/model license for 00' Gen 3 Fbodies you can have someone with a tech 2 flash it to a stock 00 camaro file and you can go from there without having to license the tahoe pcm's file.
If you do not have the year/model license for 00' Gen 3 Fbodies and you only PCM licensed his 00 pcm then you also have the option to license the tahoe pcm.
