what year gauge cluster?

what year gauge cluster? I have a 2001 Z28 and I want to do the 200 mph conversion. My problem is, I can't afford to have the car sit for a week or two while the cluster is shipped/converted/shipped back. I want to buy one from someone who is parting out their LS1 f-body.
The question, does it matter what year LS1 the gauge comes out of? If so, what is different and what problems would I have using it in the 01?

will a 99 work? I found a guy selling one for a good price but want to make sure it will work.
