This would be great...I could sell tunes in my area as nobody here even knows how to spell LS1 And in a few years I could make 10cents on the dollar.

One thing most of us don't appreciate is how much work tuners put into learning their trade. Then they go on the boards and get bashed by people that forgot to hook up their O2 sensors (not me)

I've been real careful about assigning blame when I am the student trying to learn how to build my LS1.

So far I only made one mistake and that was not torking down my throttle body when reassembling. I'm not sure if it was even leaking, but I know for sure now everything is on tight. Hopefully in a few days I'll have my EFI Live scan tool and the learning will continue.

The good thing about chasing problems like a possible vacuum leak, high idle, LTFTs etc is that you learn more about the engine dynamics as you work your way through all the potential problems. It's great stuff.

PS, Firefox gives you full spellcheck capability while posting on boards ( I still manage to misspell a few though )

Let me correct a couple of mistakes in your post. You say you have only made one mistake-this means you haven't been in this game long, because EVERYONE makes mistakeS along the way. Your comment about tuners IS correct ONLY as it applies to the good ones. There are TONS of people with a checkbook and the internet who order software and masquerade as tuners. I am fairly confident that you know one. A proper tune will function PERFECTLY with no 02 sensors (except in the eyes of the EPA) emissions and all, you know. Once you get your scantool (and later, tuning software), you too will know exactly what some of us here are talking about.

One mistake in the last assembly. I'm sure I'm older than you (guessing) and I've had many opportunities in my life for failure and success. Mistakes are only moral shortcomings that define the quality of the person we are.

As far as tuners bashing each other I am not a tuner and have not the need to attempt to place myself in a superior position.

I am looking forward to learning more about the LS1 PCM and tuning parameters. The tune I have runs very well...at 5,000ft above sea level when the ambient temerature drops below 15* I obvisouly have something not perfect yet. So far I'm confident that I have recieved fair value for every dollar I have spent and I'd venture to guess...actually bet my $$$ that I'm being led in the right direction.
