Yep you read the title right I am swapping from the 80e to the 60e, I know its backwards.
Heres what I have 2001 LQ4 6.0l/80e computer. 2001 60e wiring harness and transmission.
I have the 2001 5.3L pcm that used to control the 4l60e and have the files for both computers.........Now how do I make the LQ4 computer control the 60e?????
Can I just copy/paste all the trans files from the 5.3L pcm to the 6.0l pcm?
I tried diggin through here and the HPTuners forums but I couldn`t find a definite answer. Tuning
, but hey I figured out how to get rid of that pesky speed limiter and ! rear o2`s

I don't have a good answer for you. ECTune on the HPT forums did a 60-80 segment swap for an Escalade I was working on, so I'm sure he would know how to do what you are attempting. Curiosity is killing me here. Why the backwards swap?

I never had the 4l80e, I upgraded a car that was running a 5.3L to the 6.0L so I kept the 60e that was in it along with the 60e wiring. The computer that was in the car had already been retuned for the 5.3 and I got a factory tune 6.0L PCM with the new motor so I figured I would use it instead of having to tweak all the engine management tables to run the 6.0L. Plus then I have the 5.3L computer to go along with the 5.3 in case I decide to drop it in something else.
OMG, you are making this much harder than necessary! Just adjust a few tables in the 5.3 pcm to adjust for the 6.0, and be done with it. You are REALLY making the swap much harder than it needs to be. A transmission segment swap that someone else has to do for you will be MUCH more time consuming than a few minor tweaks to the 5.3 pcm that you could do yourself in less time than it took me to type this.

The reason that I didn`t just retune the 5.3L PCM to run the 6.0L is that I am probably going to drop a 5.3L and 4L60E into another car. So if I retune that PCM I will end up with the 6.0L/4L80E PCM sitting there and it would need to be reprogrammed to run a 60e anyway. In reality either I figure out how to do a segment swap now or later.
As far as I know all segment swaps with HP Tuners need to go though support at HPtuner. EFILive allows the users to do segment swaps them selfs, you just have to have matching operating system numbers for the combinations you want.

I had another thought tonight. Can I just do a complete re-flash and flash the 6.0L PCM with the 5.3L program? Then I would have to correct the engine management side, but then both of my PCM`s could run the 4l60e right?
The 5.3L PCM was from a tahoe and the 6.0L was from a GMC 1500 pickup.
