Cool BigStuff3 vs stock PCM

Why would one spend 3k on BS3 system when with hp tuner software you can program almost anything?
I would assume more versatility? Cant you do most everything with stock PCM ..(F/I mods..3bar etc..)?

It's easier to run larger injectors, and will drive them without an impedance converter and also all of it's native tuning is from a wideband that it references (rather than NBs) for fueling and tuning. It also has closed loop wideband control which is kinda nice.... say you have an 11.0 target AFR in it, you spray a buttload of meth and closed loop portion goes to work to get the AFR back to 11.0 by pulling fuel. If the meth fails, you don't go lean. This is a nice advantage for a high HP street car.

Cool thanks. How big of injectors for this ls style setup can you go? How much hp can you make with 8 ls style injectors...I assume the stock pcm cant control more than 8 right? Is there a way to tie in a wideband to the hp tuner software?
I am thinking about buying hp tuner software but want to see if it will not be useful after a certain hp level basically.

yeah with large in injectors you have a lot of trouble tuning them at low rpm/low fuling needs, because the computer cant go under one millisecond on fueling

There is no solution with the low rpm with big injectors on stock pcm?

up to a point... 96#ers can be done with some work but there will be a limit coming soon at that size. It's not that lots of this can't be done with HPT and a wideband, at a point it gets easier, and BS3 offers lots of conditional inputs and outputs, has a 2-step built in that is a real 2-step for getting the turbo up, and little things like that (boost control can be done too) which make life easier all being controlled through one interface.

Don't get me wrong though, I am a bug fan of what we can do with the stock PCM and a good tuning suite like HPT.

What are your goals and future goals exactly?

BS3 is a race piece... it will let you have a much more control over timing....

for instance... if you race on small tires/undersized tires you can pull timing and dump boost on the starting line and gradually bring both of them back in and then pull a degree or 2 again 200ft before the stripe....
BS3 is for a serious street/race car...
