Reprogram PCM or LIVE Tunner?
Reprogram PCM or LIVE Tunner? Ok, I'm building a custom motor that the only real thing on it that is a "stock" part on it is the block, and maybe the heads but thats going to be an Aftermarket GM part lol. so should i have the stock ecu programed or get the Real time PCM?
I've seen 1000hp combo's tuned with the stock pcm without much issue so its definitely possible to simply use the stock pcm. Add in things like custom operating systems that already have real time tuning, etc. and it makes it just that much easier.

well i remember a gm high tech were they have a place that takes stock ecus and makes them real time tunnable. so i'm debating between that or a fast, but if a stock ecu will work thats cool. but i just dont want to have to send it in again to have it reprogramed if i change something.
Theres a 3rd way to go about it which in our system utilizes the pcm installed in your vehicle rather than having to swap in a different pcm. It works on nearly every 99-04 LS1 based pcm so the coverage is pretty wide as well.

The real time tuning you mentioned above is EFI Live using the moates Roadrunner PCM, best money i ever spent on my car.
HPTuners or EFI Live will be unphased by changing your stroke, they can handle pretty much any insane combo you can think of
