Default Please help...air intake problems (codes 171,174 ext lean)..

First off I sold my z28 to my buddy stock w/ free mods, then I just sold him my old k&n, whisper lid, MBA maf ends, baker reducer, and home ported TB.
He keeps throwing codes 171 and 174. Also, I took two readings on the scanmaster and they are very inconsistent one was an 906 and next was a 850! both from 20 rolls.

I checked all the clamps and stuff, all tight.
Here is my list of possibilities,

-Old k&n washed alot and barely oiled(filter is white).
However, would it matter prior to MAF?
-The sensor came off my 2000 SS, it saved work swapping ends of both sensors.
However, I thought 98-00 are the same.

What do you guys think it is?

Thanks for your time, Andy

lean codes are generally cause by leak between the MAF and intake or a leak in the exhaust. If it is the exhaust it normally shows up on just that side.

You can a little electronics cleaner on the MAF and see if the wires are gunked.
