MAFT stands for MAF Translator...
The MAF output is frequency.
A translator will change the frequency seen by the PCM. The output frequency will be different than the input frequency, by the scaling that you put on the switches.
So it doesn't actually change anything in the PCM. It tricks the PCM into looking up values in its MAF curve table that correlate to frequencies above or below the actual MAF output frequency.
