Don't confuse control strategy
Open Loop (OL) vs Closed Loop (CL) which is wheter or not the PCM will use the O2's to provide feedback information to adjust fueling (Closed Loop does this)
with air metering strategy
MAF vs SD - The MAF is a device that simply measures the mass flow of air entering the engine regardless of wheter the car is in open or closed loop. SD is process based on the ideal gas law in which the primary factor that is determined (or modified) is the volume of air entering the engine based on MAP and RPM (or at least the estimation of air entering the engine i.e. Volumetric Efficiency)
