Scanner doesn't work?
Hi everybody, bought a obd2 scanner on ebay to read trouble codes, on my trans am 00. When i was connecting the scanner for the first time today nothing happened, why? tried many thing, ignition of, and on, pressed the enter button , but nothing happening, Does anybody now how to make it work?
The protocol seams to be VPW? and in manual says "VPW The connectors must have pins 2,4,5, and 16, but not 10"
What does they mean with that?
It is this model, you can read the manual in pdf format on the link below to.

Yep, check the CIG/ACCY fuse. www.obdii.com/connector.html explains the pins/protocol used for different makes.

Yep the CIG fuse was blown, replaced it and it worked. Plugged in the scanner, got one code: Random Multiple Cylinder Missfire
What could that be?

Mine has thrown P0300 a couple times over the years, just clear it and see if it keeps coming back. If it does look up the description/diagnostics for your year at gearchatter.com P03XX codes can be a pain.
