Got SES Code w/ these Mods
Got SES Code w/ these Mods Well the car was running fine before I put on these mods. The mods I did were Throttle Body Bypass, Porting of the MAF Housings and de-screen, and a Whisper Lid. All were done at the same time then driven.
I started the car and all was fine. Gave it a couple good revs too. Then I drove it around. I drove it for about 10 miles letting the RPM's go no higher than 3500. Then I got on the freeway. I got on in 3rd gear at WOT, it got up to about 4500 rpm then went into 4th and continue WOT up to about 75mph. I then put it into 6th and continued driving. I looked down and the SES light was on
Me thinky it's the porting of the MAF housings that set it off and probably messed up the fuel trims near top end. I would get the code read but no one will do it here, not even Autozone, "We stopped doing it six to sever months ago." And I'm certainly not paying $70 for it to be read
I'm thiking it's a "Lean Bank 1" code, or 2, or both
Anyone have any ideas, expiriences? I know I could get ATAP or something similar but that will be in the maybe folder for now. Thanks for listening!

Re: Got SES Code w/ these Mods try to reset the pcm, let it relearn nad see if it comes back on. if it does it is probably your maf you might have messed up the wires inside. but you will never know unless you scan it. i look at it as if your car is running shitty because of it the fix it now if not then drive it till you can fix it.

Some people say that doing it for a few sec. works, others say it takes more time. I I have tried both ways, one waiting like 1 min. then re-attaching, then I have also tried disconnecting and letting the car sit till it was cooled off, I got the same results both times.
After that, just drive the car normal...if all goes well, then try WOT, and see if you get the code again.

Re: Got SES Code w/ these Mods Locate the two fuse blocks under the hood. With the ignition on (car not running) pull the PCM IGN fuse and PCM BATT fuse. Turn ignition to off position. Wait a few minutes and replace the fuses. This way it only resets the PCM and you don't loose your radio settings.
