History Codes
History Codes Hey, these issues are on my 94 Lt1 Z28 and just throwing this out there to see if anybody knows. Rebuilt motor, new/rebuilt tranny from scoggin dickey and rebuilt rear end is the drivetrain history. It also has a new alternator - battery - starter and clean grounds.
First what exactly are the history codes? I have an option in my scanner for current codes and history and need to see if the history codes need to be addressed or are the history codes exactly as it says, history.
Here are a list of the codes as well:
History Codes:
59 - Transmission Fluid Temp sensor circuit high - low temp
81 - QDM or shift B solenoid fault
Current Codes:
53 - System voltage is too high

History codes, depending on the code are usually codes that have set at some point but are not actually hard failures at the present time. They can be considered intermittents. They may have set and then passed the following tests within a certain number of drive cycles. On OBD II cars, when dealing with emissions related DTC's, the SES light will go out after 3 good trips (monitor runs and passes), yet the code will still be stored for 37 more drive cycles (non continuously mointored systems), or 77 more if it was related to the fuel and misfire monitors (continuous)
