concidering a Diablo for my WS6
Hey guys and gals. I am concidering a tuner for my car but I have a few questions. First, I have an 02 Trans am WS6 A4. The current mods are :SLP airlid, Pace setter LTs and a ORY, and a Transgo reprogramer. I haven't installed the headers or shift kit yet. I know (or I think) It will throw a code after I install the headers. What I need too know is if the Diablo predator will take care of my needs. Now correct my if I'm wrong about this stuff. Can I ''turn out'' the rear o2 sensors? Can I turn off the TM for the trans? Will the Diablo allow for me to adjust for future mods I have in mind? Future mods are:3200-3600 converter, 373 gear set, maybe a mild cam and heads. I don't think I need one of the laptop tuners because I don't feel like I could spent the time to adequately learn it. Will the Diablo do all this?

Yes, the Predator can turn off the rear O2 sensor codes.
It also has a nice range of fuel/timing adjustment for fine tuning.
You can turn off all TM, and adjust for gears.
The converter lockup and head/cam tuning will need to be done by a CMR Diablosport dealer.
Thanks

Also, with the addition of headers you will need to find a Chip Master Revolution software (CMR) dealer because the base tunes in the Predator U7198 that you will need will not have the correct tune for you.
As a suggestion, go to the diablosport forum and search the U7198 unit to see what it will do for you before you buy.

I have become a member of the Diablo forum to learn more. I will check out the Vinci product also. What is the website? Could you explain the CMR software? I wonder if Diablo has CMR software?
Thanks everyone!

Respectfully, CMR is the acronym for the software name. Some select speed shops use this software to create a tune that can be downloaded to a predator programmer which can then be installed to your car. The best way is to have them create the software with your car on a dyno but the technicians can simply write a tune using proven tables for the modifications you have. But using a dynamometer allows them to know for certain the air/fuel levels and the technicians can then create the proper tables using the CMR software. Once installed in the Predator it will be listed as an optional tune which can be modified or installed as is.

Ok. Can I do this for now? Install the headers and turn out the rear o2s, and turn off the torque managment BEFORE I install the generic or custom tune? What I'm asking is can I change a few things with the stock tune? I want to install the headers and shiftkit without having a ses light. I don't want to do a custom tune every time I add a new performance part. That might get kinda exspensive. I hope I made this clear enough because I think I confused myself!

Without having done what you have, I will say yes. You will turn off your SES but your car still needs a proper tune to run at its best. I would say to watch for knock because your engine will be moving a lot more air and you will be lean but this will be the situation whether you use the predator or not.
Yeah, the tool will allow you to alter either the performance tune, or the stock tune.
Install the headers, turn off the rear O2s, and do some data monitoring to see if you have any knock, and check the fuel trims and adjust accordingly.
