Palm OBD-2 Scanner ?

I just did a log driving to work this morning. It is getting easier to use as I get more familiar with it. The only problem so far, for me, is that everything is so small. My fat fingers & bad close vision eye sight make me clumsy with it, lol!!!
I will try the gauge function after I get my home computer setup for hot synch & updates.
Because I am not to familiar with Autotap for PDA, can you compare/list some of the pro's & con's between Atap & LS1M? Like the scanning speeds and the ease of reviewing the logged data on the PDA. From what I gathered from the Atap website, the only LS1M "con" is that I don't have ALL of the enhanced parameters to choose from. But the LS1M "pro" is more scans per second for the parameters that LS1M supports (I think???).
Thanks. I will give more feedback once I test everything out.
Any comparison I make between ATAP for Palm and LS1M is going to be terribly biased. I would suggest if someone already has ATAP for Palm, download the LS1M demo version from my web site & then comment on the differences. The LS1M demo version will let you do almost everything except connect to the car. You can load it onto any Palm. When it scans, you'll see random values which I tried to make as fast as the real thing.
As far as facts that I can give you, though, my scanner supports fewer enhanced data parameters than ATAP, but does offer some calculated ones that ATAP does not (like injector duty cycle) plus some other functionality (like collecting LTRIM's). Both allow you to log & review data (apparently - I downloaded the ATAP s/w but couldn't get past the registration screen). ATAP I don't think will allow you to save in EFILive format like mine does. My scan speed for 10 parameters runs 330-380 mS, which puts it in the 25-30 param per second range. I can't comment on ATAP speed.
Then there's the price. The GM only version of ATAP for Palm (assuming you don't already have the PC-based ATAP) runs $289.95 without a Palm pilot (according to the web site); mine is $200 including one. Software updates are free for life on LS1M; not sure about ATAP. You can get ATAP cheaper on a group purchase; something I have been known to do as well. And lastly, let me say that LS1M is designed with the LS1 community in mind. I've made a few enhancements already based on customer requests & feedback. One of my long-term goals for the software is to automate alot of the more tedious tasks in LS1Edit. The LTRIM's screen was my first crack at that. (It's always seemed like alot of trouble to log the fuel cell number & the ltrims, then export to a spreadsheet & build a pivot table or whatever - what a pain.) Things like MAF calibration or injector scaling help or maybe knock diagnosis come to mind.

(Is AutoTAP a sponsor here? If so, I'll probably get booted off soon...)

If you are interested in getting a Palm logger, you should definately check into the LS1M.

Anyone else here interested in a GP on the LS1M?
Auhtor, If I had a M105 with more Ram would that allow more logs to be saved and longer log times?
Thanks!
