How do you pause? All I see is stop. Then it starts the file all over.

What you need to do is enable the "Chart Inspector" by pressing F2. Now there is a vertical line you can put anywhere with the mouse.

EFILiveV5 has no pause during playback - like you said it can only play and stop. Playback is really only meant for unattended "demo mode".
You can set it to loop or only play once by ticking or unticking the "Loop" check box in the properties window on the playback tab page.

If you want to analyse the chart in detail, you can use the arrow keys to move the "chart inspector" frame by frame through the log file. Sort of like a jog-shuttle control on a video player.
Hold the left arrow down and the log file plays in reverse, hold the right arrow key down and the log file plays forward. Release the keys to stop.

Because the mouse also controls the "chart inspector" it can interfere with the arrow key control. Especially on laptops with a "mouse pad". You can disable/enable the mouse control of the chart inspector by pressing the F2 key.

You can even use the arrow keys while the F7 or F8 tab pages are visible. Just make sure the tab has focus - i.e. a little dotted line around the tab title -you may need to click on the tab title twice to give it focus, once to select the tab page and once to make the dotted line appear.

EFILiveV6 (due out soon) has full VCR type controls which includes play, pause, fast-forward and stop.
It also has a "real-time" playback mode that will replay the log file at the recorded speed (V5 does not have real-time playback control).

Regards
Paul
