Default MAFT splice

About to install MAFT but can't find a good mount location within reach of the pigtail ; would there be any harm in splicing in about another 2 feet of wire ?
Thanks for any help.

shouldn't be.......

as long as it does not cause any added resistance the wires could be 10 feet long.....

Nope, I just added 7" to the wires going to the MAF on Fri and it works great! THere was no need to lengthen the wires going to the factory wiring harness.

I installed mine vertically along side the lower power distribution fuse block on the drivers side for a stealth installation. There is room between the right side of the radiator and the fuse block to keep the MAFT away from heat and still be able to turn the dials.

I covered the soldered wire connections with heat shrink tubing and the whole group of wires in plastic wire loom. To keep the wires away from the spining belt and electric fans I CAREFULLY drilled a hole in the fan shroud and used the "post" on the MAFT connector that goes to the ECM wireing harness to secure the wiring to the shroud.

Thank you much for the info. Going to get some heat shrink and do the same.
