Default Will the car learn to idle after cam install?

got my cam in a while ago and soon to take it out of storage. Hasnt been tuned. It took me 5 min. of playing with the throttle to get it to idle on its own. Will the computer learn to get it to idle after a while or will i have to wait. Also what rpm u reccomend i take it to on the stock tune? 2500 max?

The main problem you will find is that your idle will be pig rich. The IAC will do what it can via the trims to sort maintaining command RPM. But with the rich AFR it won't idle to its best and probably hunt a bit too.

The ECM/PCM can only do so much on its own. With that size cam and an A4 you'll need to get the idle tuned.

Nope. Best bet is find someone in your local area with HP Tuners or similar to come give you a $100 "get you down the road" tune. Pretty easy to do an idle tune if you can follow directions. DO NOT GET IN IT PERIOD until then. Low RPM okay but remember your still driving at your own risk.
