if there scan tool does not power up when plugged into the aldl connector check your cig lighter fuse, it is probly blown and your aldl connector doesnt have any power to it

"did that its fine....fuse was blown but i replaced it and all is working still can't read from it..."

I know this is an old thread, but I'm in that same situation with none of the OBDII scanners registering that my car is even hooked up, checked that fuse, and disconnected battery for 30 minutes, tried to scan after that and still having same problem. Any ideas on how to fix this little guy.

I had a fuse that would blow as soon as I turned on the ignition. So before hand... I would check the fuse, it was fine. Turn on the car and for some reason the scanner would not power up. Check the fuse again and it was blown. Same situation happened twice in a row. Then I realized I was using a 20 amp fuse when it called for a 25 amp. Haven't had the problem since.
