PCM stops working... works when re-connected
PCM stops working... works when re-connected I keep getting a problem that requires me to re-connect the PCM in order to get it working again, has anyone ever heard of this/know a way to fix it?

well i go to start it, and there is no signal to the pumps, no spark, and if i try and hook up a logger it acts like the PCM is off. I re-connect, and it is very hard to start, but once started it runs fine... 2-3 more starts down the road and it does the same thing again 
The car is throwing a P1683 which equals check/reprogram/replace the PCM
The car has gotten worse, as the fuel pumps are loosing voltage while driving and the car has to be throttled over 1k rpm to keep the car from stalling.
I plan to replace the PCM but I want to know what would cause this, is it a problem inside the PCM caused by a bad board part, or is it because a wiring issue in the car fried the PCM. This is what I need to know before putting another PCM in the car.
I have read that long term water damage inside the PCM could cause this code. I dont have the tools to take the PCM case off so I can't check.

nof - There are many reasons a PCM can go bad, but, without knowing any more about your situation, I would suspect old age as the culprit. Unless you're aware of some details you haven't shared, I'd say replace the PCM and call it a day.
i cracked open the PCM...and it looks old. and looks to may have some water damage, i have a new PCM here with my VIN and tune flashed onto it, we'll see next weekend if it solves the problem.
