Re: Predator re-sell CATUION !! I know James at RWTD and and he will tell you as will the first page in the owners manual, that the predator is married to the vin of the car and can not be rest....... if you buy one you may find you have a exspensive scan tool at that point.

Re: Predator re-sell i have heard on very very very very very rare cases, (either not able to get tuned correctly, or totaled cars(with police reports) within a couple weeks of purchase, they "can" get you a new one.
As far as i know, other than very rare circumstances, you cannot "reset" a predator for sale. It becomes a scan tool.
If this is not the case, i have one that i would not mind getting reset, but i bought it as a scan tool ($40 well spent)

Re: Predator re-sell I wouldn't let them fool you, it is a bi-directional unit. They can burn you a new program into it, but they can't reload the defalt program, thus clearing it to like new??? I call BS on this one. 
They flash the unit, it is probably an EPROM. This is not new technology by any means. Seems they don't want to lose $ due to the lower resale of used units floating around. I hope the scan tool is working well for you, I did find the manual for it in my garage the other week.
