Default 93z28 rear gear change, computer changes needed?

I have a 93z with 2:73 gears and want to switch to 3:73s. Since the 93 computer is not programable like the 94 up ones, what should be done so that the ECM and speedo work correctly? Do I need to have a new chip burned or with the car run ok without any changes?

'93 was the last year for speedo gears in the transmission's tailshaft. You need to change to a 15 tooth drive gear and a 45 tooth driven gear and VSS unit. You need to get this done ASAP because 2.73 to 3.73 is a huge jump. Your speedo will be way off and you'll hit the speed limiter, if your car has one.

I should of gave more info, I have the T56 trans so I should have the electric VSS. I appreciate your response either way! Any idea what to do since I have the 6 speed?

You have to get a chip burned or use a rare SLP calibrator. The benefit of the calibrator is you can change adjust it to whatever gears you put in it or may put in it in the future.

I just so happen to have an SLP calibrator that I never used since I wrecked my '93 before it was installed. Hit me up if you are interested.
