Default newbee qn on LS7

Hi there,
I'm helping a friend with a custom job involving a brand new LS7. Am trying to get a digital dash to work with ECU. However, all I currently have is a 16-pin ALDL cable coming out of the ECU with pins 1,3,10,11,12 active, others are not.

I need to get CAN+ and CAN- signal to work with my dash. How do I know which pin is what? Thanks a lot!

Thanks Ryan! I saw that on the OBD-II site. However, the only usable output cable I can see on my LS7 is that 5 (out of 16)-pin ALDL cable. I was told that's the standard GM Tech 2 output. But how can a new LS7 not have a proper OBD-II output from the ECU? What am I missing?

That's odd.

Pins 4-5 are both ground, and pin #16 is battery power, so something is wired wrong.

Whart ECU do you have? (E38/E67?) I will get the pinout for the ECU itself.
