Exclamation Help!!!

Hello i'm about to purchase a new ecm reason being i found power going from my control module into the ecm for my a/c but not coming out. long story short i cut the wire going in and spliced it straight to the relay going into the a/c compressor problem fixed right... wrong i'm purchasing a new ecm hoping it will fix my asr switch... it does not work when i hooked it up it did not light up or turn off my tcs... is the asr switch routed into the ecm or is it part of another computer.

What year/model is the car? Also, Pace Performance sells GM units for under $200 + core.

The schematic shows the PCM wire DK GRN is clutch status from the relay to the PCM. There is also a DK GRN/WHT compressor control wire from the PCM to the relay. It appears like the compressor control DK GRN/WHT wire connects the 15A fused power to ground through the PCM. The relay power is fed from the 15A A/C-cruise fuse (hot in bulb test, or start). There is then a pink wire that runs from the 15A fuse to two connectors on the compressor relay.

So, you should be able to power the A/C compressor clutch by grounding the DK GRN/WHT wire. You could avoid replacing the PCM by adding a switch in the DK GRN/WHT wire. That way you could use the switch to ground or unground the compressor; grounded when A/C on & ungrounded w/ A/C off. Grounding the DK GRN/WHT wire should provide both relay switch power & compressor power. Odly, it appears that both are provided through the same 15A fuse. If you want to see the schematic, just let me know & I will scan it for you. Hope this helps.

where are you located? thank you alot i have already bypassed the pcm/ecm straight from the controls to the relay to the a/c compressor. I appreciate the help but still might this failure be due to ecm/pcm problems. I took it out and it had water deposits and rust in some places thank you again.

Ohio, it may be a PCM issue or it could be an A/C switch issue. The schematic shows that the relay grounds through the PCM, as we discussed, but, there is also a second DK GRN/WHT wire from the PCM to the dashboard A/C controls. It looks like the A/C control in the dash, could be the ground point. So, it's either a PCM issue or an A/C switch issue. My guess is that it's the switch. Am thinking that the DK GRN/WHT wire from the relay enters the PCM & internally connects to the DK GRN/WHT wire that runs from the PCM to the A/C control switch in the dash, where the switch "on" would connect the relay to a grounding point. If the problem is within the PCM, you may begin to have other power source failures. Sensors that use 5V feeds from the PCM like MAP, TPS, or MAF sensor engine codes may appear.

Glad to hear that you got her fixed up & hope that there are no other PCM issues.
